Alexis Walters, M.A., LMFT
I work with individuals, couples, and families and utilize models of treatment that focus on healthy relationships, emotional awareness and expression, increasing positive self-talk and improving quality of life. I have experience working in the community mental health field, as well as in Inpatient and Outpatient Dual Diagnosis Substance Use and Mental Health Treatment centers. I utilize modalities of treatment including Emotion-Focused Therapy, Family Systems, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care.
I truly value creating a supportive and safe therapeutic relationship with my clients that allows space for them to heal and grow. I strive to become a compassionate, nonjudgmental guide who can provide support to clients who are seeking help with improving their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. I aspire to provide guidance to my clients that encourages them to embrace their most authentic selves and create a life that supports their needs.
I have developed a passion to help transform the relationships that my clients have with themselves as well as the important people in their lives through the development and maintenance of healthy boundaries, communication skills, and utilizing effective coping skills. I also provide a safe space for clients to process their life experiences and let go of what is out of their control while focusing on what is in their control and where they want to spend their emotional energy to work towards a more effective growth mindset.
