Amy Taylor-Smith, MA, LCMHCA

Seeking mental health treatment doesn't make you weak! In Fact, treatment empowers you to develop a deeper understanding of your challenges and how to utilize your strengths. I am committed to guiding you through that understanding and improve your well-being in a supportive, warm, and empathetic environment while empowering self-discovery. With 16 years in the NC Department of Public Instruction, I have experience across a variety of settings and demographics. I have cultivated academic and therapeutic relationships with children as young as 5 through adolescence, young adults, adults, and families. My therapeutic approach is client and family centered anchored by evidence based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. My strengths include working with clients presenting generalized anxiety, social anxiety, depression, OCD, self harm, suicide ideation, perfectionism, challenges at school, selective mutism, stress management, and burnout.
