Callie M Podraza, M.Ed., LCMHCA
I believe that for counseling to be effective, both parties must be actively involved in the treatment planning process. It is important to create realistic and achievable goals to give the counseling process direction. My job as a counselor is not to tell you the path to take, but help find the path which works best for you. I work with adults (18+), utilizing narrative and solution focused modalities. I specialize in and have attended training for ADHD, grief, depression and anxiety. I can also support clients who are struggling with disordered eating, body image, relationships and life transitions.
I will often assign homework to be completed outside of our sessions. This will aid in the discovery process and encourage changes to achieve your goals. We will also do regular check-ins to assess challenges and barriers in a safe and receptive way. By offering validation and support, I can help individuals work towards their greatest potential.
I believe counseling is a collaborative partnership that incorporates the input of the individual. I believe in neurodiversity and that there is not a "one size fits all" intervention. I await the opportunity to work compassionately in helping you or your teen meet the goals you set forth for your own personal journey.
