Emma Clark, Intern

Hi! I’m Emma Clark, and I’m currently in my final year of the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Gardner-Webb University. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Roanoke College in 2024, and I’m excited to continue growing as I work toward becoming a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor.

As a graduate student clinician, I know I’m still learning, and I truly see that as a strength. Every class, supervision meeting, and client interaction helps me become a more thoughtful and effective counselor. I’m passionate about continuing my education and bringing the knowledge, skills, and evidence-based practices I’m learning into my work with clients. I believe that staying curious and committed to growth allows me to provide the best care I can.

I deeply value a person-centered approach and believe that everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. Building a genuine, trusting relationship is at the heart of the counseling process, and I strive to create a space where clients feel safe to be themselves. I believe that meaningful change happens through authentic human connection, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they navigate life’s challenges, discover their strengths, and work toward the life they want to create.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of each client’s journey and look forward to supporting them with compassion, empathy, and respect every step of the way.
