Matt Smith, MA, LCASA
Seeking help for substance use can feel overwhelming, and you do not have to navigate the process alone. Whether you are questioning your relationship with alcohol or other substances, working toward recovery, or facing challenges maintaining long-term change, therapy can provide the support, structure, and accountability needed to move forward with confidence.
My practice is dedicated to helping individuals understand and overcome substance use disorders through evidence-based, client-centered care. I recognize that substance use is often connected to underlying experiences such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or major life transitions. We will explore these contributing factors while maintaining a primary focus on achieving and sustaining recovery.
I earned my Master of Arts in Addiction Counseling from Liberty University and utilize evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). My approach is collaborative, practical, and individualized. We will work together to identify your strengths, develop healthier coping strategies, and establish realistic goals that support meaningful and lasting change.
I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel respected, supported, and empowered throughout the recovery process. I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to your unique needs whether you are seeking treatment for a substance use disorder, navigating the emotional challenges that often accompany recovery, or working to build a healthier and more fulfilling life.
Recovery is not simply about stopping substance use. Recovery is about creating a life that supports lasting wellness. I look forward to helping you take that next step.
