Hi, I'm Reed, a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern here at Flourish Counseling and Consulting. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from University of North Carolina Wilmington in 2023. I am currently pursing my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Lenoir- Rhyne University, where I have developed a strong foundation in counseling theory, ethics, evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and assessments.

My counseling approach is grounded in person-centered therapy, while incorporating principles and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In session I strive to cultivate a space where individuals feel comfortable, safe, and accepted. I believe every person brings their own unique experiences and perspectives into the therapeutic space. I work collaboratively with clients to better understand their experiences, goals, and supply them with tools that are helpful and practical in their lives.

As an intern, I am excited to learn and grow by gaining new experiences and learning from the clients I work with. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue learning and growing as a counselor while supporting clients through their own therapeutic journeys.
